Manitou Park in Spokane, Washington. A great thing to doOne of the beautiful attractions of Spokane, Washington can be found on the South hill at Manitou Park and Gardens. Take 25th Avenue or Grand Avenue to find the park and gardens for almost any family event or outing.

October is an especially beautiful time of year to take in the scenic area. With its brilliant fall flowers and autumn leaves. Manitou is enjoyed by young and old. It features the Rose Gardens, The Japanese Gardens and has a place for picnics and even a large pavilillion shelter that can be rented for large events. There are ponds that have turtles, swans and ducks surrounded by willows and other trees and ample picnic tables

  1. Some things I need to add are families love this park you can feed the ducks and swans and of course the greedy seagulls. But you need to bring your own bread, bread stores have cheap bread for a dollar a loaf. They love bread and fruit.

There are play grounds for children near the duck pond.
There are a lot of paved walk ways that are wheelchair and and stroller accessible. You can find restrooms in the conservatory which has a lot of exotic type flowers growing there and in other locations. There is ample parking which is free of charge. There is ample green grass and area’s for playing frisbee or croquet or even horse shoes if you want and barbeque pits for some areas to grill hot dogs or hamburgers.

  2. Good point - had never thought of that one…

  3. Is there a website where one can find out when the lilac gardens are in bloom in Manitou Park? I live away from the area~ it’s about an hour and a half drive there.

    Thanks!
