Brooklyn Deli Nights - Spokane WashingtonNot often is it that you find a place that fulfills the ‘trifecta’ of dining excellence: great food, service and atmosphere. Add to this potent mix a night life element, and you have an up and coming restaurant juggernaut on your hands. From their funky brick abode at 122 S. Monroe, Brooklyn Deli and its sister bar, Brooklyn Nights continue to create a buzz in downtown Spokane. Locally owned and located just south of the Montvalle Hotel and Catacombs Restaurant, the Brooklyn Deli is right at home in the heart of Spokane’s entertainment district.

When freshly baked bread teams with delicious fresh ingredients the pairing is hard to resist. I am personal evidence of the “Power of Brooklyn” as I have returned to the deli for lunch three times in the past week since my first visit. You may think it excessive, but wait until you try it! My sandwich of choice is the French dip. Delicious roast beef topped with melted provolone cheese slipped between two freshly baked pieces of bread brings you as close to heaven as a sandwich possibly can. If you’re feeling hungry I’d encourage the whole, which is more filling than any sandwich in town save Domini’s. The half-size sandwich will prove sufficient for most normal appetites. Throw in a Snapple and a bag of chips and your bill will still only be about $9. Imagine a taste of Brooklyn without the price! If you’re more of a vegetarian than carnivore, Brooklyn Deli features a wide variety of homemade soups, seasonal salads, and specially made sweet treats. Try house favorites such as Jody’s Veggi and the Turkey Caesar Grinder. If this doesn’t sound good, design your own sandwich for your very own taste of
Brooklyn.

For a taste of the late night, walk through the hallway to Brooklyn Nights. Local and regional performing artists rock the house nightly. With tunes ranging from acoustic to rock, and blues to bluegrass there is something for you. Just the other night my girlfriend and I attended an acoustic concert with another couple at Brooklyn Nights. The place was packed! It was great to meet new people in such a cool environment. With eight beers on tap, the majority of which are microbrews, including locally brewed Northern Lights beer, Brooklyn Nights definitely strays from the traditional “bar serving domestic beer” mold. Throw in the chance to sample a glass, or indulge in a bottle of 12 different wines and you have something for everyone. If you get a late night craving have no fear, the Brooklyn Deli is very near. Order up a sandwich or nice appetizer to compliment your beer or wine of choice.

The European kitchen feel that Brooklyn Deli & Nights creates is a product of the eclectic decorations. Exposed ceiling beams, brick walls, cozy booths and wood floors work together nicely with the local art that adorns the walls. Great service is an added bonus, with any regular customer usually known by name and sandwich. Need something to do following your meal? Activities are just around the block including CenterStage, The Big Easy, Far West Billiards, The Fox Theater and much more. Add ample parking directly across the street and you have a no reason to avoid this Spokane gem. Food and fun for the whole family await you at Brooklyn Deli & Nights.

    Mike,

I was given your name as a point of contact for information and possible host. I am interested in the first friday trying to find a venue to display some photographs. I have not heard of this event because I live about an hour from Spokane. A friend of mine told me about it and is encouraging me to do an exhibit. So here I am. I am told that you show a variety of work. My question is how does one get to show there work? Is there any papers that need to be filled out? I have never done anything like this before and have no idea were to start? I do not even no what size the photos should be or if they should be framed or matted or what. your help would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to see some of my work I can send some via email or maybe web page. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Dennis
