Comstock Park-An Activity For Everyone

While there are many parks in the Spokane area, you will be more than satisfied when you discover what Comstock Park has to offer. This wonderful park is located on West 29th Avenue between South Post Street and South Howard Street. We have visited Comstock on a regular basis since we moved to Spokane two years ago. There are numerous activities to do on the flat park grounds such as tennis, basketball, swimming, swinging, and cozying up in front of a nice fire during the winter months. People of all ages roam the park and find many things to do.

My son loves to go to the playground because there are six different ways to climb up to the slides. Children of all ages can be entertained, but because it is a high play structure I encourage young children, less than 3 years old, to be accompanied by an adult until they reach the slides. If you are playing and the need for a restroom should arise, they are located in a small building next to the parking lot. It is a good park to spend the day and be sure to bring lunch because there are many picnic tables set out for your enjoyment.
The park gets fairly busy during the summer with people taking part in the various activities. With swimming lessons and family open swim there are many people getting cool and having fun in the pool. If you are looking for a quieter park setting I encourage you head to the far side of the park near the basketball courts.

We always go to Comstock Park with our dog and have yet to run into another one that makes us uncomfortable. The visitors as well as the outstanding parks crew really look after this great park. The grounds are always kept up and looking fantastic. My hat goes off to the employees that clean Comstock Park. So if you are looking for a new place to discover try Comstock Park on the south hill, but don’t forget your tennis racket, swim suit, or basketball. You will not be disappointed!
