YMCA Parent/Toddler Swim classes Spokane

My 14 month old son and I just finished a 5 week swim class at the YMCA in downtown Spokane. We had a fabulous time. My son loves getting wet, jumping in the pool, splashing and playing with bubbles. The instructors were excellent and had obviously worked with young kids before. It was nice to begin to get my son acquainted with water. We plan on doing it again after the Holiday’s.
The YMCA offers swim classes for all ages beginning as early as 6 months. From 6 months to 3 years the YMCA offers classes that include the parents which is a great opportunity to have some fun with your children and start them on the path to a healthy lifestyle.

The YMCA locker rooms are great too. They offer men and women’s locker rooms and in addition they offer a mother/toddler locker room and a father/toddler locker room. There are showers in the men’s and women’s locker room and the mother/toddler locker room. We always used the mother/toddler locker room and it was great. Not only was it like a traditional locker room, it also included changing tables, padded benches and small nooks so the kids stay out of trouble while you get dressed. The cost to enroll in the class is very reasonable.

For members classes start at $15 and non-members $30. Classes usually run for 5 weeks and are offered year round.
The YMCA has two locations in the Spokane area. Their first location is at 507 N. Howard on the edge of Riverfront Park. The second YMCA is in the Spokane Valley at 2421 N. Discovery Place in Mirabeau Point. Their website is www.ymcaspokane.org.
