I have heard many people rave about Halletts Market & Café in the Spokane Valley, but had never eaten there myself. I don’t know what I was waiting for. The food was delicious and the meals were very affordable.

You place your order at a deli counter and you get to see many of the salads and other daily specials through the deli case. It took us awhile to decide as there were so many choices. There were 4 fresh pasta salads, 2 green salads, 2 soups and more sandwiches to special order than I could count. We ended up ordering one of the daily specials, chicken salad sandwich and soup or salad. I ordered a pasta salad and my husband ordered chicken noodle soup.

There was ample seating room in a small dining room and they bring your order to you. The dining room was crowded when we showed up about 12:15, but we had no problem finding a seat. The food arrived quickly and exceeded our expectations. I picked a wonderful looking pasta salad that had salami, olives, cheese tortellini and feta cheese with dressing. My husband chose the chicken noodle soup to go with his sandwich. Both were delicious choices. The specials were $5.99 each. All sandwiches also come with a small bag of popcorn. The sandwiches were very good but the pasta salad exceeded my expectations for a deli pasta salad and the chicken noodle soup was delicious too.

Halletts also offers Panini’s, twice baked potatoes and lasagna. Next time I am going to try a Panini. The most expensive item on their menu is the lasagna at $7.50. While you are waiting for your lunch you can peruse through their gift shop. There are beautiful baskets that would make a great gift of any occasion, rows of wonderfully smelling coffee, including their own special Christmas Blend. They offer more huckleberry gift items for a reasonable price than I have seen anywhere.
