When my 13 year old nephew came to visit last weekend, I wanted to find something fun that we could take him to do. We ended up going to Wonderland Family Fun Center and we had a lot of fun. Wonderland is defiantly a place for kids- and adults- to go and have a blast.
Wonderland is located at 10515 N. Division St. in Spokane. They have laser tag, mini-golf, go karts, batting cages, arcade games, and more! They also have a dining area with characters on a stage that dance and sing, which would be a perfect spot for a child’s birthday party. It is free to enter, but each activity costs money.
My husband and I took my nephew and met a friend of my husband’s there. The first thing the guys wanted to do when we got there was ride on the go-karts. The cost was $7 per person for an approximately 7 minutes of race time. We go-karts each have 2 seat belts meaning 2 people can ride together, but the passenger rides free. My husband and I shared a go-kart and while it was a tight squeeze, we were able to fit and it was a lot of fun. The go-karts are pretty fast and the fellow racers were pretty competitive. You don’t have to worry about rowdy kids too much because the rules forbid bumping or running into the other karts.
After riding on the go-karts, we decided to play a game of miniature golf. They have both an outdoor and an indoor miniature golf course, both of which have 18 holes each. We opted for the indoor course this time because it was later in the evening and pretty chilly outside. The indoor course is a tropical themed course. It was pretty nice, however I’ve played on the outdoor course before and I prefer that one. However the outdoor one is right off of Division so it comes with a bit of traffic noise. The miniature golf games were also $7 per person, however we were able to buy one get one free with our military discount.
If you want to play laser tag, it is also $7 person, with $4.50 game replays. The arcade games have various prices, and so do the batting cages, which are priced either according to time or per pitch.
There is also a snack bar with foods like pizza and hot dogs, as well as soda and ice cream. We were there on a Friday evening and they had their Friday special on ice cream- $1 per scoop.
You can visit Wonderland’s website at www.wonderlandusa.com. They even have some coupons available for buy one get free mini-golf, go-karts and laser tag. You can also bring in a student’s recent report card with good grades and they can get some free tokens.
My 13 year old nephew had a great time and so did my husband and I. Wonderland is definitely geared towards kids and teens, but that doesn’t mean it’s not fun for adults. It’s actually a great place to have a family night.
