“Where are we going tonight? I don’t care, as long as they serve adult food and drinks. How about you just pick a place.” That is the conversation that took place with my girl friends when we were trying to decide where to eat downtown at our girl’s night out. We eventually decided on Twig’s Bistro & Martine Bar in River Park Square.

I was so excited to go out with the girl’s. Eating without a toddler was not something I got to do very often. And to catch up with people I used to work with was an added bonus.

When you walk into Twig’s you immediately forget you are eating at a mall restaurant. I felt that I was in a small, intimate restaurant in a big city.

Twig’s service was phenomenal and the food was excellent. We started with drinks of course and appetizers. Twig’s is well known for their martini’s, so that is where some of us started. My chocolate martini was sinfully good. Another friend ordered a mango martini that she said was fabulous. The rest of the table ordered wine, which was excellent too.

For appetizers were ordered their French fries with gorgonzola cheese sauce. Oh my goodness. I love French fries, but dipped in gorgonzola cheese sauce, oh my word. It was the best dip for French fries I had ever had.

After eating the French fries I had no doubt that our dinner would be excellent. Everyone ordered something very different. I had a BBQ Chicken Cobb Salad, which was a perfect combination of dressing, toppings and lettuce. There was nothing left when I was done. The salmon, sandwiches and Thai Noodle salads were also big hits. We all left full, happy and satisfied.

Our experience at Twig’s was wonderful. The prices were moderate, with the martini’s starting at about $8, wine at $5 a glass and entrees began at $15.
