Picture Perfect Day at Cannon Park, Spokane’s South Hill

It was a picture perfect day at Cannon Park on Spokane’s South Hill. Located at 18th and Lincoln, Cannon Park is a beautiful park with a pond, bridges, large grassy openings, toys and a softball field. On Sunday there was a family teaching their kids how to play t-ball, dads pushing their kids on the swings and families watching the ducks on the pond.
We ventured to Cannon Park so our son could see the ducks, his favorite and so we could take some outdoor pictures of him. It has been awhile since we had any decent photos of him where he is not running or pointing at the camera!
The pond at Cannon Park is great because there are actually more ducks then seagulls swimming. The ducks were not only swimming they were roaming through the grass which delighted our son.

After running after the ducks we decided it was time to take some pictures. He had a great time sitting in the trees, on the bench and peeking out from behind the bridges. We also managed to get some nice family pictures where all three of us were looking at the camera.
After he tired of pictures we took him over the toys to burn off some more energy. For the first time, he rode down the slide on his bottom. Usually he turns and goes on his tummy feet first. He loved it. The slide had a curve in it so he thought he was such a big boy.

After tiring of the toys he and dad ran off to check out the bridges. There are two very neat old foot bridges at Cannon Park. They had so much fun walking over them, peering over them and playing under them. They also enjoyed running through the bushes to see who could get down the hill first.

Cannon Park has picnic tables and restrooms, but no covered eating areas. At the end of the afternoon we had a great time as a family.
