Millwood Farmers Market

Millwood Farmers MarketWe had drive out to Millwood on Wednesday to pick something up and as I was driving down Argonne I saw a sign for a Farmers Market. I followed the signs, turning west on Euclid, and ending up at the Millwood Presbyterian Church on 3223 N. Marguerite. We found a parking space and headed to the market. I was surprised at the number of vendors set up on a Wednesday afternoon and the large number of customers.

The Millwood Farmers Market is sponsored by Millwood Presbyterian Church and is held every Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. from mid-May to October 1st. Each week the number of vendors vary depending on what is in season.

On this Wednesday there were probably 15 or 16 vendors selling everything from plants, herbs, bread, pastries, fresh vegetables, candy, meat, jewelry and a bake sale. We moved from booth to booth and stopped and bought some fresh peas and radishes and a cookie. My son of course loved to look at the flowers and to anyone handing out samples.

The Millwood Farmers Market is registered with Washington State Farmers Market Association. The website, http://www.millwoodpc.org/Mission/FarmersMarket/tabid/1879/Default.aspx, says there is live music every week. I think we were too early for the music, but I did see them setting up a portable stage.

The Millwood Farmers Market is the perfect place to get your mid-week fix of fresh and local produce, meat, eggs, candy, bread and live music. The next time I am out in the Millwood area, I plan on arranging my trip around this Farmers Market.
