Rock City Grill- A Unique Dining Experience in Downtown Spokane

Rock City SignMy birthday was last week and I got to decide where we would go for dinner. I really love Italian food and pizza is probably my favorite, so I decided that we would go to Rock City Grill in downtown Spokane because they have delicious pizzas.

We decided to have an early dinner and luckily the restaurant wasn’t very crowded. The inside of the restaurant is very uniquely decorated. It’s kind of hard to explain and exact theme, but the pictures show the gist of it. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, although the outdoor seating is not far from the busy road.

We started by ordering an appetizer because we were extremely hungry and my husband and I were waiting for friends. We ordered a plate of garlic cheese bread and ate it very quickly because it was so good (so quickly I forgot to take a picture of it!). We also each ordered a huckleberry lemonade to celebrate. The lemonade came in a tall glass complete with a sugared rim. And it tasted amazing!

I couldn’t decide between two different kinds of pizza, so I ended up ordering a pizza with half of each kind I wanted- half Thai chicken and half crab and artichoke. They were both delicious, although the Thai chicken was a tad spicy for my tastes (but I’m a wimp). The crab and artichoke side had just that, as well as some cheese and onions. My brother in law ordered one of his own and devoured it. The Thai chicken pizza had chicken, peanut sauce, prawns, cilantro and chopped peanuts on top. Both pizzas were delicious! Again, I was so into the food that I forgot to take a picture until I had eaten most of it!

Some friends who were with us ordered a burger, which came with Rock City’s famous “Italian Parmesan Fries” and an extremely large calzone. The portions are pretty big, but the food is very delicious so we didn’t mind. And since it was my birthday that day, our server also brought out a small bowl of crème brulee with a candle in it. It’s the first time I’ve ever had that dessert and it was pretty good!
