Night Out at Anthony’s at Spokane Falls

Upon arriving at Anthony’s I took advantage of the complimentary valet parking and met my husband inside. We were seated quickly at a nice corner table outside over looking the river. Upon ordering our drinks we started looking at the menu.

After looking at all my options I decided upon the Sunset Dinner. This 4 course meal included a shrimp cocktail, choice of soup or salad, an entree (8 to choose from) and a desert. For my entree I chose the Roasted Garlic Prawns and it was the correct choice to make. My husband ordered the New York Steak and added a Ceaser Salad.

Getting Fit with CrossFit in Spokane Valley

He told me to join him for a free workout at his brand new CrossFit franchise, located inside the Global Fitness on East Sprague in the Spokane Valley. I agreed to meet him there, and had no idea what to expect. That’s part of the fun of CrossFit. Every time you go in, you get an adrenaline rush like you’re showing up for the first day of tryouts for a sports team: you don’t know what’s going to happen, but you know it’s going to be hard, and you’ll feel very tired and a sense of accomplishment afterward.

Harmon Park-Skateboarding, softball, horseshoes, tennis, play toys

This weekend my husband and son went to Harmon Park, 6018 N. Regal Street (Market & Bismark) to play while I was out of town. Harmon Park is located on the north end of Hillyard and has so much to do and see. Harmon Park is home to a skate park, softball field, picnic areas, and children toys.

Harmon Park also is home to tennis courts, horseshoe pits and a softball field. They also have a large picnic area and public restrooms.

Play With Friends and Friendship Park

I am trying to squeeze in as much park time as I can before it get’s too cold. This week has been the perfect week to forget that fall is right around the corner. We have spent many days this summer playing at Friendship Park (631 E. Greta) in North Spokane. This is a great park located off of Standard and Greta and consists of 12 acres of childhood fun.

Friendship park not only has your typical play toys, it has 2 softball diamonds, tennis courts, nice walking trails and will soon have a splash pad. My son loves the toys the best, but has recently taken to swinging. His favorite part is moving from swing to swing.

Cascade Glacier Ice Cream Parlor A Family Royal Treat

After we left Jump of Joe Lake and our picnic we headed home and our daughter had a surprise treat for us. She wanted us to stop at Cascade Glacier ice Cream parlor. So we did and it was fun. As you drive along Highway 395 to some of the area lakes take a bit of time to stop in at the Cascade Glacier Ice Cream Parlor. It is not far from Deer Lake Exit and is a off the road place to stop and have a fun treat with the entire family.

Family Fun at Spokane County Interstate Fair

Today was Family Free Day at the Spokane Interstate Fair sponsored by KSPS and The Spokesman Review. My girlfriends and I decided it would be the perfect day, weather included, to take the kids to the Fair after the nap time. However, I did not anticipate that everyone in Spokane would also have the same [...]

Farm Fun at Carver Farms-Newman Lake

I always know fall is coming quickly when corn is ready to pick. And for our family, no place is better to pick corn than Carver Farms (9105 N. Idaho Road, Newman Lake, WA). A couple of weeks ago on our way home from Idaho, we came home through Rathdrum on Trent and made a quick stop at Carver Farms for some fresh corn.

Carver Farms has a large selection of fruit and produce available from mid-June through October. Visit their website at www.carverfarms.com to see what is in season. They are open 7 days a week 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
