Family Fun at Spokane County Interstate Fair

Spokane County Interstate FairToday was Family Free Day at the Spokane Interstate Fair sponsored by KSPS and The Spokesman Review. My girlfriends and I decided it would be the perfect day, weather included, to take the kids to the Fair after the nap time. However, I did not anticipate that everyone in Spokane would also have the same idea.

After parking about 3 blocks away and loading up the stroller with the necessities we headed to the front gate to meet up with our friends. Upon entering we immediately headed to the animal barns. Since our kids can name all the farm animals we thought it would be an appropriate place to start. We started with the pig barn and were blessed to see a few baby pigs. They were crying and asking for their mom, but they were so cute. After the pig barn we headed to the cow barn. They kids went nuts when they saw the cows. After a quick tour through the cows we headed to the chickens, bunnies and ducks.

After we successfully completed the animals, we made a quick trip through the flowers and fine arts. I love looking at the quilts and decorated cakes. We also went through the agriculture barn and checked out the 100 pound pumpkins. The kids loved to see the “big pumkin”.

We ended the day by stopping off and buying them some food and taking a walk around the rides. Next year they will be big enough to ride and enjoy the fair a little more.
