Play With Friends and Friendship Park

I am trying to squeeze in as much park time as I can before it gets too cold. This week has been the perfect week to forget that fall is right around the corner. We have spent many days this summer playing at Friendship Park (631 E. Greta) in North Spokane. This is a great park located off of Standard and Greta and consists of 12 acres of childhood fun.
Friendship park not only has your typical play toys, it has 2 softball diamonds, tennis courts, nice walking trails and will soon have a splash pad. My son loves the toys the best, but has recently taken to swinging. His favorite part is moving from swing to swing.
Yesterday we went with grandma to the park, which was nice for me because I did not have to chase him for once. He loved showing off his sliding and climbing abilities along with showing grandma how he could “try” to pump his legs and swing.
After playing on the play structures for awhile we headed to the open grass to let him kick the ball. He enjoyed this until he noticed the construction site where they are building the splash pad. We are already looking forward to this new addition for the summer of 2009.
If play toys are not for you, you can always meet up with friends and family at Friendship Park and play a game of tennis or a friendly softball game. Friendship Park also has numerous picnic tables available for use along with restrooms.
