My boyfriend and I were stopping by the Garland Theatre to see their list of showings, when we decided we weren’t that interested in what was playing, we decided to finally stop into Tune Time, the small karaoke and game shop attached to the theatre. My boyfriend is pretty big on playing with video games (and I’m not so shabby at it either), and I love singing karaoke. We had both mentioned from time to time that we needed to stop into that shop sometime, but had never shown up for a movie early enough to get in while the shop was still open (we generally go to see that latest 9:45 p.m. showings). This time we were there a little after 7:00 p.m., just am hour before the shop’s closing time.

It turned out that in addition to selling games and karaoke stuff, the shop is also a novelty shop. They sell a lot of gag items perfect for any prankster, as well as costume jewelry. Browsing through their selection my boyfriend and I cracked up over many of the things they had on display. They were relatively cheap items, but could be priceless if you were to actually trick someone with them.

They had a nice selection of gaming items, including items for all of the systems out there: the Wii, Playstation, XBOX and XBOX 360, etc. My boyfriend eyed their wireless XBOX controllers (which were relatively brand new and being sold for $29 each) which would have been regularly priced at $60 at a regular store. They had a wall covered with games for sale, all priced lower than what you would get them at the regular store. This is a definite stop for any gamer looking for a good bargain.

I was impressed by the karaoke system they had out for sale. It included everything necessary and wasn’t too high priced. I’m not in need of any kind of system like that at the moment, but I will be sure to recommend the place to anyone who asks me about it.

The shop is currently half-way closed off because of a leak. So unfortunately we weren’t able to browse through everything. We’ll be sure to stop in again as soon as they get it fixed, which they said shouldn’t bee too much longer, so we can check out all of the rest of the items they are selling. Tune Times is open from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
