Night Out at Anthony’s at Spokane Falls

Upon arriving at Anthony’s I took advantage of the complimentary valet parking and met my husband inside. We were seated quickly at a nice corner table outside over looking the river. Upon ordering our drinks we started looking at the menu.

After looking at all my options I decided upon the Sunset Dinner. This 4 course meal included a shrimp cocktail, choice of soup or salad, an entree (8 to choose from) and a desert. For my entree I chose the Roasted Garlic Prawns and it was the correct choice to make. My husband ordered the New York Steak and added a Ceaser Salad.

Cascade Glacier Ice Cream Parlor A Family Royal Treat

After we left Jump of Joe Lake and our picnic we headed home and our daughter had a surprise treat for us. She wanted us to stop at Cascade Glacier ice Cream parlor. So we did and it was fun. As you drive along Highway 395 to some of the area lakes take a bit of time to stop in at the Cascade Glacier Ice Cream Parlor. It is not far from Deer Lake Exit and is a off the road place to stop and have a fun treat with the entire family.

Peach Picking on Greenbluff

We got up early to go pick peaches so we could beat the heat and headed to Walter’s Fruit Ranch. Walter’s has so much to do that it is a perfect place to take a 2 year old. While we waited for the Fruit Loop Express to take us to the peach trees, my son was able to feed the chickens, look at a rabbit and visit the goats. They also have a new play structure so he was able to burn up so me energy on the slide.

The Peach Festival at Greenbluff continues through next weekend. For more information please visit the website: http://www.greenbluffgrowers.com/.

An Afternoon of Frolf on the Whitworth Campus

Frolf is a clever combination of the words Frisbee and golf. It is not the same as Disc Golf because fancy disc golf discs are not used. In the poor college kid, I have six square feet of dorm room space, version of disc golf players grab their most expendable Frisbee and aim for agreed upon objects. The Whitworth University campus on Hawthorne between Division and Waikiki provides an excellent location for this activity. There are a multitude of unmarked courses, which I will not trace out for you because that would be too difficult, and I don’t positively remember any one. About a week ago I had to give in to a friendly game of Frolf.

Birthday Party at HuHot in Spokane Valley

There is a restaurant in Spokane Valley called HuHot that is a type of Mongolian Grill restaurant. I recently planned a surprise birthday party for someone with about a group of 15 in attendance. I had never been to HuHot, but I had heard rave reviews from friends and it was the birthday girl’s favorite [...]

We decided to have an early dinner and luckily [...]

An Afternoon Walk in Riverfront Park in Downtown Spokane

When the weather is pleasant and not too hot, Riverfront Park is a great place to go for a walk, enjoy the scenery and have some fun. Some friends and I recently went for a stroll in the park on a Sunday afternoon. We were actually trying to simultaneously pass time and enjoy the weather and our walk did just that. We started our walk near the carousel and new fountain. We made our way northward across the bridge that crossed the Spokane River. Standing on the bridge facing up the river gave us a beautiful view of the park’s famous clock tower.

100 Years of Motorcycle-Spokane Fairgrouds

This past Saturday we decided to head to the Spokane County Fairgrounds to the 100 Years of Motorcycle Rally & Concert Series. I was not sure what to expect, but my husband said we would enjoy ourselves as he went to Rosalia last year for the Rally. We are by no means motorcycle people, but we do enjoy looking at the custom bikes and my husband wanted to meet Jonathan Hillstrand from the “Deadliest Catch”.
