I love the Sweeny Todd Musical. I listen to the Broadway soundtrack daily. I saw the Tim Burton movie twice in theaters and bought the DVD as soon as it was released. I went to the Civic Theater production in the beginning of November, but as good as that was, I still had not had enough of the musical thriller. When I found out that the touring Broadway show was coming to the Martin Woldson Fox Theatre in downtown Spokane, I jumped at the opportunity and bought 4 tickets at $38 a piece.

Interesting Finds and Good Food at Cyrus O’ Leary’s
Cyrus O’ Leary’s beautiful building is located at 516 W. Main Ave. in downtown Spokane. My favorite thing about this restaurant is its decorative set-up. The walls are covered with miscellaneous items from all different time eras.
Night Out on the Town, Steamplant Grill and More
After a busy day at work, I received avoicemail from my boyfriend. He told me to go home and get dressed up because he was going to take me out to a nice dinner. He didn’t give me any details, but told me he would be picking me up at 7:30 pm. So, I quickly [...]
Phantom of the Opera Comes to Spokane
The place was filled. We had good orchestra seats, of which I was most thankful for. The cast preformed magnificently. I could feel my heart pounding loudly within my chest at the riveting sound of their voices and the moving sensations of the musicians below the stage. I’ve been a fan of the Phantom of the Opera for a long time now. The original Broadway cast recording is a permanent on my MP3 player—but it does not even compare to the experience of hearing it live. Harold Prince does an outstanding job of directing this show, of which is now the longest running show on Broadway. The lead roles of the Phantom and Christine were played by Ramin Karimloo and Gina Beck—both of which offered moving performances. The entire cast, in fact, I found very effective.
Cascade Glacier Ice Cream Parlor A Family Royal Treat
After we left Jump of Joe Lake and our picnic we headed home and our daughter had a surprise treat for us. She wanted us to stop at Cascade Glacier ice Cream parlor. So we did and it was fun. As you drive along Highway 395 to some of the area lakes take a bit of time to stop in at the Cascade Glacier Ice Cream Parlor. It is not far from Deer Lake Exit and is a off the road place to stop and have a fun treat with the entire family.
Audubon Park + Little Garden Cafe = A Great Day for Parents and Kids
Surviving another weekend with energetic foster kids was a victory in itself, but having the Audubon neighborhood to rely on for great play space and coffee made our Saturday that much sweeter.
Little Garden Cafe - Kid Friendly Spokane Coffee
I really enjoy a good latte. However, now that I have a toddler, finding a place to meet friends that is “kid” friendly is difficult. Last week though I finally found my new favorite coffee place. It is the Little Garden Cafe located at 2901 West Northwest Blvd. in the Audubon Park neighborhood on the northside of Spokane.
Brews Brothers Lounge
Now that I’m working the full-time grind, I’ve found that I have succumbed to the business professionals drink of choice . . . coffee. Being that I work downtown there is obviously plenty of coffee houses to choose from. But one of my favorites remains Brews Brothers Espresso Lounge

Rocket Bakery - Spokane’s Finest
On the western edge of downtown Spokane, green awnings covering an outdoor seating area boast the name Rocket Bakery. This charming café looks to be the type that would charge $5.00 for a tall mocha from the outside, but once you enter the glass door of the attractive brick building you realize you are far away from yuppie-dom. The tattooed teenagers employed there ignore you as you walk into the brightly painted café.
